Batista Provides Insight on Why His Royal Rumble Return Went Wrong, Video Included

A clip from Batista’s upcoming DVD details why “The Animal’s” in-ring return at Royal Rumble didn’t go to plan.

The Evolution member reveals that wardrobe problems prevented him from warming up properly before he entered the Royal Rumble, where he appeared to be sluggish and out-of-shape.

The clip depicts Batista encountering numerous problems, including being fitted for new wrestling trucks after being self-conscious about his old-style trunks and the overall look, as well as the zipper on his boots breaking, and not being able to find the Gorilla position before his Rumble entrance. In a sit-down interview, Batista says:

“It just felt like old times because it just felt like every time we were getting ready for a live show, everything goes wrong, man.”

The clip also shows WWE personnel sewing up Batista’s boot as Sheamus enters the Rumble at #17, and still working on the issue as Luke Harper enters at #22.

“I haven’t warmed up, I still don’t know exactly what I’m doing. Just nothing is going right… And then you go.”

The clip finishes with Batista entering the Rumble at #28 which preceded his victory where he last eliminated Roman Reigns.
