Batista reportedly tried to talk The Undertaker out of Goldberg clash

The clash between Goldberg and The Undertaker got into the news for all the wrong reasons. The veterans were involved in a number of botches which also resulted in a heated argument between the two.

Batista has now revealed that he tried to talk the veteran out of the clash at the WWE Super ShowDown. During an interview with Ryan Satin, The Animal claimed that he called The Phenom prior to the event in an attempt to avoid the events that followed. Batista said:

“I called ‘Taker Friday. I called him Friday and I said, ‘Hey man, is there any way I can talk you out of this?’ and he just started laughing. He goes, ‘You know, when they talked to me about it a while back it sounded good, but I’m obligated, so we’re doing it.’”

There were numerous reports suggesting that Goldberg was concussed before the match during his pre-match routine. The condition was deteriorated when The Myth collided against the ring post.

I know the match is today and you’ve been promoting it for weeks so I waited until the day of the match to ask if maybe you could talk your way out of it.’ and he just started laughing. He goes, ‘Thanks for the pep talk, Drax.’”
