The old resurfaced tweets from Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn quickly became a big controversy and as a result, Disney officials decided to fire Gunn from the third film of the franchise.
Since his firing, numerous cast and crew members have shown their support for the released director, including the former WWE Star Dave Bautista.
In a recent statement he released, the former World Champion threatened to leave the movie franchise if Marvel Studious decide not to use the script James wrote for the third Guardians movie:
“Where I’m at right now is that if [Marvel] don’t use that script, then I’m going to ask them to release me from my contract, cut me out or recast me. I’d be doing James a disservice if I didn’t.”
Now it’d be interesting to see how Marvel and Disney officials reply to Batista and if all this support is enough to bring back James Gunn into the MCU fold.
