Becky Lynch Banned From Using WWE Name

Becky Lynch is still one of the most popular female WWE Superstars in recent memory. The Man’s meteoric rise to Superstardom back in 2018 is well documented. It propelled her career to the absolute top, which culminated in her winning both the RAW and Smackdown Women’s Championships at WrestleMania 35, defeating both Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey in the main event of the Show of Shows. She is also engaged to WWE Superstar Seth Rollins and the two welcomed their baby girl Roux in December of last year. Becky Lynch’s WWE SummerSlam return plans were leaked as well.

Becky Lynch made her return at WWE SummerSlam as she went on to defeat Bianca Belair in a squash match and became the new Smackdown Women’s Champion. She also retained her title at WWE Extreme Rules after Sasha Banks returned during the pay-per-view and attacked both her and Bianca Belair. She also defended her title against the two at WWE Crown Jewel.

Becky Lynch successfully defeated Liv Morgan at the WWE Day 1 pay-per-view and retained her RAW Women’s Championship. WWE had been engaged in a legal battle when it came to Becky Lynch’s ‘The Man’ moniker and Ric Flair using it as well. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has given up on trying to keep The Man nickname.

Evidently the reason Lynch is now Big Time Becks and not “The Man” is that WWE gave up in the legal fight over that term with Ric Flair. Flair noted on his show that she’s no longer “The Man” because he owns the rights to that name in pro wrestling.

Many fans hope to see Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey square off again 3 years after their triple threat match at WrestleMania 35 with Charlotte Flair. It was the first women’s match to main event WrestleMania, and Rousey left WWE shortly thereafter.
