Bellator announces signing of former WWE World Champion

Bellator MMA announced yesterday that they have signed Jake Hager, better known among wrestling fans by his ring name Jack Swagger under their heavyweight division.

Swagger was released from WWE earlier this year after staying with them for almost 10 years and he had shown interest in pursuing an MMA career multiple times ever since.

Here is what the former World Champion from WWE had to say on the occasion as seen in the official press release sent by Bellator:

“This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. It’s something that’s a part of me so it makes sense. I’m very happy with the deal. I’ve felt a lot of love from Bellator, I think there are certain types of guys who need to be punched in the face and taste blood. I’ve always been a fan of MMA; I’ve been wrestling since I was five years old. It’s awesome to be with Bellator. They’re really going to put 100 percent towards it!”

At this point, it’s not known when or where Swagger will exactly make his MMA debut but it’s expected to happen sometime in 2018.
