Ben Askren Leaks ‘Troubling’ Joe Rogan Health Claim

The former UFC star Ben Askren recently tweeted about Joe Rogan contracting COVID-19. He went on to talk about beating its symptoms with modern medicine. He took to his Twitter account and wrote:

“If you find yourself wishing Joe Rogan would’ve gotten sicker or worse you need to take a deep look at your values and what’s in your heart.”

Kelly Slater commented on Instagram stating:

“Why, when the government handed out trillions of dollars last year, are they not able to make more accessible health care available in the form of emergency medicine like Joe got for the pandemic? Then you wouldn’t have Karens in these comments to shame anyone who can afford those out of pocket. Better in 3 days?! Hospitals would seemingly be fine in that case.”

Ben Askren reflects on the bout between Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley; suggests a rematch

Having fought Paul and trained with Woodley, Askren is quite familiar with both the men who fought in last weekend’s Showtime pay-per-view main event. ‘Funky’ posted a video on his Instagram to give his thoughts on the recently concluded Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley crossover bout. He said:

“Now, I think (Jake) and Tyron happens again, and here’s why I think it happens,” Askren said. “So while I will definitely admit that Jake worked hard for this and he has achieved a relatively high level of boxing proficiency, I think that going from the level he’s at to like a world championship level is a long way off.”

Askren said that Paul’s only options are to fight former MMA fighters or take his chances against high-level boxers. With that in mind, Askren believes it’s in Paul’s best interest to stick to the formula that has worked for him so far.

“Tyron is a champion in mixed martial arts and I think I’ve had a conversation with him and (Paul) would recognize that him vs. a boxing world champion in boxing is a tough matchup. It’s not gonna go all that well.”
