WWE Hall of Famer and current WWE NXT announcer Beth Phoenix, the wife of fellow WWE Hall of Famer, Edge recently took to social media via Twitter to address her husband’s long time tag team partner Christian shocking debut for All Elite Wrestling. Christian Cage made his on-screen debut for the company by signing a long-term contract for AEW during the rival promotion’s Revolution pay-per-view event. Phoenix posted a gif of Edge and Christian embracing during the WWE’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view event in January with the following caption that stated: “Love you both so much.” These AEW announcers just ‘botched’ Christian Cage’s debut.
In other news regarding Christian, now known to All Elite Wrestling audiences and professional wrestling audiences alike as ‘The Instant Classic’ Christian Cage. During a post-Revolution media scrum, All Elite Wrestling Chairman & CEO Tony Khan address the Christian Cage signing and stated how it came to be and in addition how often we should should see ‘The Instant Classic’ in an AEW ring.
“He was interested in wrestling on a regular basis and he gave me a call and said, ‘I’d really like to come wrestle in AEW for you,’ and I said, ‘I really like to have you wrestle in AEW for me, that sounds awesome.’ It all came together great, and I think it’s going to be really good.”
