We noted before how the betting odds for the upcoming Royal Rumble match took an incredible shift in favour of SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan and over the course of last few days he has become the third favourite person to win the bout.
After this, it was reported that somebody within WWE pitched the idea of Bryan winning the Rumble and the word got out, resulting in the sudden change.
At that time it was believed that there was no weight in the pitch and Bryan won’t be returning to ring anytime soon, but now it appears that there is more to this story.
George Elek, the spokesperson for betting sites Oddschecker recently commented on the matter and said that their sources have told them that the current storyline between Daniel and Shane McMahon will somehow lead to Bryan’s in-ring return and him winning the Royal Rumble match:
“Fan favorite Daniel Bryan has seen a plethora of attention, despite apparently not being medically clear to compete. There may be something in this story, however, with our sources claiming that the storyline between Bryan and Shane O Mac coming to fruition and resulting in a fairy-tale return win, for the constantly over superstar.”
