Big E eager to show what he can do in singles run on SmackDown

The latest episode of SmackDown saw the beginning of the singles run of Big E. With both Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston out injured, the former Intercontinental Champion is on his own for the time being.

Big E defeated The Miz this past Friday after Miz and Morrison (hey hey, ho ho) poked fun at the idea of him being a singles competitor. For some reason, WWE seems to have forgotten everything he did prior to joining the New Day.

In an interview with Yahoo! Sports, he spoke about the opportunity and what it meant for him.

“This is all kind of coming out of nowhere. I feel confident that I am ready for this. The interesting thing and weird thing is we don’t have that organic response. I hope people enjoy this run, I hope it’s good and entertaining, I hope all of the people who have clamored for this for years are not disappointed.”

Big E put The Miz away with a new submission finisher, the Stretch Muffler.

Booker T made some comments about what he would have to change if he wanted to be seen as a legit competitor. Click here to see that and what Xavier Woods had to say in response.
