Big E ‘Loses’ Intercontinental Title Push To Big Name

WWE star Big E was assaulted by returning Aleister Black and cost him the title match against Intercontinental Champion Apollo Crews.

Big E removed from IC title picture

Crews was able to retain the Intercontinental Title on this week’s SmackDown in a hard-fought fatal four-way match.

Aleister Black who made his return, assisted Crews to retain the title. As it turns out Black and Big E are likely to be involved in a feud. This would keep the former Intercontinental Champion away from the title picture. Edge Real Reason For ‘Leaving’ SmackDown Leaks

Dave Meltzer recently opened up on the Wrestling Observer Radio. Kevin Owens who was involved in the fatal four way match could be next in line for the title shot.

Here is what Dave Meltzer said:

“They give Aleister Black a program with Big E. Big E is out of the Intercontinental thing. I don’t know… so, it could be Kevin Owens [for the IC Title], just go harder with him because Sami is a heel, so Kevin Owens is probably the likely guy [against Apollo Crews].”

With Big E  being set to being in a storline with returning Aleister Black, he is unlikely to be in the title picture. We will see how that storyline works out and what WWE has planned for Black.

Owens being a babyface has the maximum possibilities to face Crews as Sami Zayn portrays a heel gimmick. We will see if Owens gets a title opportunity at Hell In A Cell pay-per-view next month.
