WWE star Big E has been in the Intercontinental Championship picture since he lost it to Apollo Crews. The latest edition of Friday Night SmackDown saw a bit of turmoil regarding the Intercontinental Championship as the ending to the match was not a clean one. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens were also thrown in the mix leaving the WWE Universe confused about what is next.
Big E to remain in the picture?
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer spoke about the current scenario regarding the title. Apollo Crews and Commander Azeez has been dominant since they joined hands together. Big E Bold Message To AJ Lee Leaks
Now it seems like the final segment on SmackDown would set up a tag-team bout.
Dave Meltzer said:
“It looks like they may do a tag with Azeez and Sami Zayn against Kevin Owens and Big E, you know that’s what it sorta set up.”
It was noted that “the finish was to set up a Big E return, that finish wasn’t set up to blow-off Big E.”
It is truly an interesting scenario regarding the IC title. Apollo Crews, who recently won the title is unlikely to lose it. He could get challengers to the title soon as the next pay-per-view WrestleMania Backlash is set to take place on May 16.
