Kofi Kingston’s rise to the main event scenes and his WWE Championship win was one of the most appealing stories of last year’s edition of WrestleMania.
During the recent episode of their Feel The Power podcast, Big E talked about Kingston’s win at the Show of Shows and revealed an angle they had planned to hype his bout which was nixed.
The former NXT Champion revealed that they had planned a segment where Kofi and himself would go to the backstage area and have an interaction with Vince McMahon:
“The original plan was that you [Kofi Kingston] and I were supposed to go backstage ripping things up on a tear we go to his office. We go to [Vince McMahon’s] office and we knock on his door and either he doesn’t answer or he opens the door and says, ‘Oh I don’t have time for you’ or something like that.”
They were then supposed to tear everything up including the things in the Boss’ office and according to Big E, he was very excited for this plan which was nixed later on:
“The plan legitimately and I was so excited for this was that we kick in the door. We tear his office up. Legit throw things over. I think he’s in the office in the corner. We’re throwing tables over and making a mess of his office just going on a rampage and like had this visceral anger about what’s happening to Kofi.”
