We noted before how Kairi Sane became the winner of the inaugural Mae Young Classic Tournament by defeating Shayna Baszler, though it appears it was only the start of a much more exciting journey for her in NXT.
Triple H spoke to ESPN after the finals of the tournament and during his interview, the Game revealed that Sane will compete for the vacated NXT Women’s Championship at Takeover: Houston
“[I’m] very excited that she’s the first champion, and now the question is ‘What’s next for her?’ I can tell you what’s next for her. On Nov. 18 at the Toyota Center at the next TakeOver, Kairi will be fighting to determine a new NXT women’s champion.”
No word yet on who will be the opponent of the Japanese professional wrestler, though it would most likely be someone from the current active female roster of the Yellow Brand. We’ll keep you posted on the situation.
