Bobby Fish injury update; plan for NXT Tag Titles

It was reported earlier that NXT Tag Team Champion Bobby Fish injured his knee at a live event on Sunday. Fish tore his ACL and MCL at the event.

Today, Fish underwent surgery to repair his leg, and it looks like he’ll be out of action for about six months.

Originally, it looked like NXT was going to strip the Undisputed Era of the tag titles, crowning the new champions at the finals of the Dusty Rhodes Classic. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

At the recent tapings, we learned that Adam Cole will replace Bobby Fish going forward. Cole and Kyle O’Reilly will defend the titles at NXT Takeover: New Orleans.

Cole is also scheduled to take part in the 6-man ladder match for the NXT North American Championship, so it looks like he’ll be pulling double duty in New Orleans.
