The Hurt Business has truly proven itself to be one of the most dominant factions in the history of WWE as Bobby Lashley, Cedric Alexander, Shelton Benjamin and MVP have shown the professional wrestling world that they mean business. The group started with Bobby Lashley and the rest joined in afterwards. MVP is to be credited for the success of the faction as all the members were floundering on the main roster until they formed the group. Bobby Lashley also successfully defended his WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre on Night One of WrestleMania 37. Bobby Lashley also broke character at WrestleMania 37.
During Night Two of WrestleMania 37, Matt Riddle defended his US Title against Sheamus in a singles match. To the surprise of many, Sheamus would defeat Matt Riddle for the win and won the title.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that Matt Riddle was never scheduled to win the United States Title in the first place.
“Riddle was never supposed to be champion. They had to do it because Keith Lee, for whatever the reason is, was pulled. They had to get the belt off Bobby Lashley because they were giving the WWE Title to him and it was one of those situations. They couldn’t give it to Morrison because Morrison was in the Bad Bunny angle. Riddle got the belt because there’s no other choice, so this rectifies it.”
