Bobby Lashley missed WWE Fastlane last night, but the WWE Champion was not facing an injury or health issue, he just did not creatively fit into the show with Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus being on the card in a match designed to end their feud. Lashley will be on Raw, and is set to main event WrestleMania against Drew McIntyre next month. Lana discussed enjoying her Bobby Lashley romance storyline yesterday.
McIntyre told UPI, “Very proud and very happy with what we did last year, but I’m looking to go out there and show the world a couple of things. This is a traditional heavyweight clash, kind of what wrestling was built on.
“Also we’re going to show everybody that Bobby Lashley belongs on that stage, in the main event of WrestleMania. He’s absolutely killing it.”
“We’re going to give them their money’s worth, give them a main event they’ll remember, and Drew McIntyre’s going to have his moment in front of a whole stadium of fans.”
McIntyre and Lashley clashed on WWE PPV last year and at TNA Slammiversary 2016, but this will be the highest profile match they have had against each other. Lashley won the WWE title earlier this month against The Miz on Monday Night Raw.
