Meanwhile, WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H recently announced that WWE Night of Champions will mark the return of the World Heavyweight Championship. Roman Reigns’ hold on the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship has led to this decision, and a new champion will be crowned in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on May 27.
WWE announced a 12-man tournament that will commence on tonight’s Monday Night RAW to crown the World Heavyweight Champion.
For the red brand Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Damian Priest, The Miz, Cody Rhodes, and Shinsuke Nakamura will be involved. Meanwhile, on Friday night it will be Edge, AJ Styles, Bobby Lashley, Austin Theory, Rey Mysterio, and Sheamus will be involved.
Two triple-threat matches will be taking place on each show with the winners of each facing each other later on that night. Those who win their second matches will then book their place at WWE Night Of Champions where the winner will be crowned the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
Cody Rhodes is in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship tournament. Brock Lesnar is not in the tournament, but he has made his presence felt in matches he wasn’t booked in before. We will see how it goes.
