Braun Strowman credits fellow big men for helping him in the ring

Braun Strowman has taken the wrestling world by storm, something that not many predicted when the former strongman debuted on the main roster with the Wyatt Family. Strowman looked like the typical big man with no personality. However, over the past two years, Strowman has proven many a critic wrong and has become, arguably, the most over talent on Monday nights.

While on Booker T’s Heated Conversations podcast, Braun Strowman talked about his growth in the ring. The Monster Among Men credits his quick growth and adjustment to professional wrestling to men like the Big Show, Kane, and the Undertaker.

It’s humbling, it really is. The big matches I had against The Big Show last year in an almost passing of the torch with that, and him taking me under his wing. We have a joke where I call The Big Show my ‘Wrestling Dad,’ because he treats me like a son. When I do something dumb, he whacks me over the head and tells me not to do it again.

Same thing with Undertaker and Kane. With Kane, I’ve been almost working with him for an entire year on the house shows and just listening to these guys stories and things that they’ve done. These guys have done everything there is to do within this industry, and they’re a fountain of knowledge, so anything I can do to pick their brains and talk, and put a match together, they are special because I know there will come a day when it’ll be my job to do the same with other talents coming in.

Strowman discussed his work ethic, also, talking about how hard he’s worked to get to where he is.

My whole life, from everything that I have ever gotten in my life I have worked hard for it, and have earned it. I have taken it, I believe that anything in life when you work hard for it and you achieve it there’s no greater feeling.

But when someone gives you something you don’t appreciate it as much, and you take it for granted, but when you put your heart and soul into it and it pays back to you, there is nothing more gratifying in this world.

The former Tag Team Champion also talked with Sam Roberts during WrestleMania week. While talking about his character’s improvement and growth, he claimed that working long matches with Roman over a good deal of 2017 helped condition him to work longer and better matches.
