Braun Strowman receives new Mixed Match Challenge partner after Alexa Bliss injury

Team Little Big was a very popular team in the original Mixed Match Challenge. Braun Strowman and Alexa Bliss made it pretty far in the tournament, advancing to the semi-finals before being eliminated by the eventual winners Asuka & The Miz.

While the matches were highly entertaining, what really caught the attention of the WWE Universe was the chemistry between Bliss and Strowman. The Monster and the Goddess quickly began flirting with each other, with fans in the crowd getting behind Strowman, hoping he might earn a kiss from Bliss at some point in the tournament.

Phrases like “We’re going all the way” also played a part in it, as Team Little Big ended up being the most entertaining team in the tournament. However, even though they were announced for the second season of the MMC, Bliss will not be teaming with Strowman tonight.

It was revealed by the WWE today that, because of an injury, Bliss would not be able to compete tonight, and her replacement would be none other than the woman she attempted to antagonize on Monday Night Raw, Ember Moon.

Whether Bliss’ injury is legit is unknown, though it’s probably safe to assume it’s a work to both get over the threat of Ronda Rousey and, possibly, a way to get Strowman and Bliss out of the MMC early, having Moon take a pin instead of Bliss.

Will Moon and Strowman be able to defeat Team Pawz, Kevin Owens & Natalya? Tune in tonight to the Mixed Match Challenge on Facebook Watch immediately following Smackdown Live to find out.
