Bray Wyatt Debuting At AEW Winter Is Coming?

WWE had shockingly released Bray Wyatt, now known as Windham, from the company. Speculations had immediately started to float around regarding his next destination and AEW was heavily named. It is needless to say that AEW has made some huge signings since its inception and it is unlikely that they would halt that.

Tony Khan hints at new signings

The idea of AEW debuting new talents soon was brought up during an interview AEW President Tony Khan did with DAZN. And the AEW President and CEO wouldn’t exactly rule it out.

“I’m more than aware that there’s a number of free agents out there, wrestlers I admire too, but I’ve got to say that you just have to keep watching over these next few weeks and not just ‘Winter is Coming,'” Khan said. “There’s the ‘Holiday Bash’ special from Greensboro, North Carolina, that includes the Christmas Day ‘Rampage.’ We have the last ever episode on TNT followed by the debut episode on TBS. There’s ‘Battle of the Belts’ coming in January. I want AEW to run shows that you just can’t miss, and I think these next few weeks are going to be really exciting for fans of wrestling.”

This year’s AEW Dynamite’s ‘Winter is Coming’ edition is set to take place tonight and it is being speculated that Wyatt could make his debut at the show. AEW seemingly teased Wyatt’s potential arrival by displaying blue and red lights during the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale last week. Red lights were often featured during Wyatt’s run as “The Fiend” in WWE.

On top of that, Khan recently stated that he had interest in talking to Wyatt. AEW reportedly had plans to bring in the former Universal Champion, but Wyatt is occupied filming a movie with close friend Jason Baker, who worked with Wyatt during his run in the WWE.

Other names to watch closely are former NXT stars Johnny Gargano and Kyle O’Reilly as their contracts recently expired, and since they weren’t outright released by WWE, neither wrestler has to go under a non-compete clause.

Last year’s ‘Winter Is Coming’ special included the debut of WWE Hall of Famer and former WCW Champion Sting. This year the fans will closely watch the show for upcoming potential debuts and we will have to wait and see if Wyatt makes his first appearance in the promotion.
