Bray Wyatt Offered Match With Top AEW Star

The Fiend remains one of the most unique characters to have ever stepped foot inside the squared circle. Bray Wyatt’s latest iteration made its in-ring debut back at 2019’s SummerSlam pay-per-view again Finn Balor, where he won in a squash match. However, his booking since then has been panned by many fans. Particularly him losing to Goldberg at WWE Super Showdown in 2020. He would lose to Randy Orton at WrestleMania 37 in a singles match after being betrayed by Alexa Bliss. He had been absent from WWE television since then. Bray Wyatt could be losing The Fiend to a big name in WWE.

Bray Wyatt was released by WWE on July 31st last year and since then the former WWE Superstar has already teased what he might do next. From what it seems, it is likely he will be making his way to AEW far earlier than expected, as WWE may have let him have a shorter noncompete. Wyatt also appeared on March 13th, at the Showcase of Legends 7 event in Albany, New York.

While speaking on the Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt Hardy revealed that WWE planned on having his ‘Broken’ character partner up with Jeff Hardy’s Willow and feud against Bray Wyatt’s Fiend.

“There was a pitch to get me to try to re-sign my contract… They set a big match with Bray [Wyatt] at WrestleMania and they said, ‘What if we did something now where Bray is doing something as the Fiend and people are trying to stop him and then all of a sudden there’s an appearance of a very hardcore Matt Hardy or Jeff Hardy? But then we see on the talk show where Bray is and he’s talking to all the kids and then you see Broken Matt, and Willow the Wisp shows up.

Which sounded very cool and awesome but I also knew at that time that would probably last six or seven weeks and then it would be done so I was already mentally checked out.”
