Fans have been loving the way WWE Chief Content Officer Triple HÂ and co-CEO Stephanie McMahon have been handling things in the company. WWE Universe was delighted after Bray Wyatt finally made his highly-anticipated return at WWE Extreme Rules. The return was teased for weeks and fans had been waiting for it to happen. It has been noted that Bray Wyatt’s White Rabbit story is a huge reason for the high SmackDown ratings and the success of Extreme Rules.
Bray Wyatt is seemingly responsible for high ratings
As per Dave Meltzer, the teasers leading up to Extreme Rules are believed to be the reason for it becoming the most-watched Extreme Rules Premium Live Event in history.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter also stated that both Stephanie McMahon and Triple H have pushed the White Rabbit strategy as a major catalyst for the success of SmackDown and Extreme Rules. WWE had teased fans with music and QR codes, hinting at Bray Wyatt’s return for weeks leading up to the big return.
”Both Stephanie McMahon and Paul Levesque pushed the White Rabbit theme as being a huge success, crediting it for the 9/23 SmackDown rating (the best for a show in more than two years except for one show that had an NFL lead-in) , the 10/10 Raw rating and the success of the Extreme Rules show, which was up 38 percent in viewers from the same show last year,” noted Meltzer.
Wyatt has been teasing the first character of the potential stable, Wyatt 6. WWE revealed ‘Uncle Howdy’ on a recent edition of Friday Night Smackdown. While it’s not officially confirmed exactly who Howdy may turn out to be, Howdy could also be a returning WWE Superstar. We will have to wait and see how his storyline will progress. There is a possible clue as Howdy was wearing a cross earring on his left ear. This is the same type of earring Bo Dallas wore on WWE television before his WWE exit.
