Breaking: WWE Releases Joey Styles

According to a report via Pro Wrestling Sheet, the WWE has released longtime commentator Joey Styles.

PWS reports that it is not yet known when the release went down, but Styles’ last Tweet was on July 29th which was only days after a Facebook Q&A he participated in entitled as his shoot interview.

Styles commented on the recent changes WWE has made and not being too fond of them, such as the name for the ‘Universal Title’, the three man commentator booth, and Vince pushing Roman Reigns so hard.

It is not yet known if Styles’ comments were the reason for his release, however, it should be noted that the Q&A has been pulled from YouTube.

Styles initially joined the company in 2005 where he served as a commentator for three years, serving as the voice of ECW until it’s end, before transitioning to a role with the company’s website. He was then promoted to Vice President of Digital Media Content.
