AEW has been ripe for rumors since it was born. Who will jump ship? Who is the next big star? Who gets the belt? The list could go on and on. That being said, it looks like this could be the biggest news AEW and we have seen since the start.
Paul Wight spoke about how we will be seeing a new AEW sign-on very soon. “Hall of fame worthy.” were Paul’s exact words. We know that means that the person Paul is speaking about is not currently in the WWE Hall Of Fame.
Rumors swirled of the possibilities of a new sign on. Suggested superstars have been Kurt Angle, Christian, CM Punk, and Dave Meltzer even added Mick Foley and Bret Hart into the conversation in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
The superstar that will be signed will have a multi-year deal. So, we can expect to see them frequently. Kurt Angle has no ties to WWE, Christian was rumored to tag with Edge in WWE, CM Punk is a free agent, Bret Hart is in the WWE Hall Of Fame, and Mick Foley may be under a WWE legend’s deal still.
All signs seem to point to Kurt Angle at this point in time. CM Punk is a hot topic, but “It’s not who you think it is.” stands out too much to make that assumption concrete.
