Several fans would simply agree that Brock Lesnar is one of the most dominant pro wrestlers to have ever stepped foot inside the squared circle. He had two terrific runs in WWE, both of which saw him winning major World Titles and being a huge draw for fans. Brock Lesnar was not seen on WWE television ever since he dropped the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36 back in 2020. Brock Lesnar was also previously called out by a Superstar from Monday Night RAW.
After being away from WWE television for over a year, Brock Lesnar made his return at WWE SummerSlam in 2021, immediately setting his sights set on Roman Reigns. He also sported a ponytail, which was completely different from what fans were used to seeing him in.
Lesnar won the WWE Championship after defeating Big E, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, and Bobby Lashley in a Fatal Five-Way match at WWE Day 1. However, he would lose the title to Bobby Lashley after Roman Reigns interfered in the match thanks to Paul Heyman turning on The Beast Incarnate.
Speaking on the “Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling” podcast, Kurt Angle revealed how Vince McMahon wanted him to lose the title to Lesnar before WrestleMania 19.
“Long story short, I was supposed to do the job for Brock a week before WrestleMania because my neck was broken. Vince wanted to take the title off of me, so he wanted me to go on SmackDown the week before WrestleMania and just have Brock do his F-5 and pin me and win the match, win the title.”
