Bobby Lashley retained his WWE Championship last night against the ‘Scottish Warrior’ Drew McIntyre during night one of WWE WrestleMania 37. With this borderline surprise win, this sets up the conversation of ‘where does ‘The Almighty’ go from here?’ Noted professional wrestling journalist and editor of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer tried to answer that question by stating that it will actually be ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt and not ‘The Beast’ Brock Lesnar who is apparently the next person to be in line for Lashley’s WWE Championship at WWE Backlash, also known as WrestleMania Backlash, on May 16th. Meltzer would state that Lesnar is not going to be returning to WWE next month and believes fully that it will be Wyatt. He stated the following during a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio. Credit to SportsKeeda for the below quote.
“What babyface, in theory; it could even be a heel; who does Lashley face next if it’s not Drew? Brock ain’t coming back next month. The Fiend is an answer which scares me to death. Here’s the thing, The Fiend is probably beating Randy Orton; I mean, I would think that and if that’s the case, god, could you imagine? It’s the only thing I can think of. Why would you beat Drew? The only reason Lashley should beat Drew is because they are going to set up another babyface,”
