Steve Lombardi Gone From WWE

WWE released Steve Lombardi, who wrestled as The Brooklyn Brawler in the company, last Friday according to Pwinsider.com. WWE has yet to publicly acknowledge his release.

Lombardi signed with WWE in 1983 and was used as a preliminary wrestler until 1989 when he was given a big push and was managed by Bobby Heenan and was placed in a feud with Terry Taylor. After that feud, he was once again moved down the card and was used as a prelim talent.

Lombardi transitioned into a behind the scenes role in the 1990’s and helped talent with their promos.

As of this writing, there’s no word yet on why he was released.
