Legendary actor Bruce Willis was recently spotted for the first time since his family revealed that he had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) last month. The retired actor stepped out in Santa Monica on Thursday.
His wife, Emma Heming had opened up after she was criticized by netizens that she was using Willis’ diagnosis for ‘five minutes’ fame. Heming has been married to the “Die Hard” actor since 2009. She recently revealed that her husband’s battle with aphasia has progressed into Frontotemporal Dementia. Since then, Heming has made it her goal to raise awareness for Willis’ condition.
But Heming Willis quickly shut these rumors down on social media.
Heming Willis reponds
The 44-year-old shared a photo of a headline reading, “Demi Moore ‘Moved In’ With Ex Bruce Willis & His Wife To Help Care For Him After Heartbreaking Dementia Diagnosis: Source” on her Instagram Story.
She wrote simply below it, “Let’s nip this one in the bud. This is so dumb. Please stop.”
Along with Willis’ diagnosis, the couple has been dealing with intense attention from the paparazzi.
Heming Willis spoke out in a video on Instagram to ask the paparazzi to allow her husband “to be able to participate in his life to the fullest” without their harassment. She went on to say, “But what I find interesting is that the outlets that are picking up the story of my plea, are the same outlets that are publishing these pictures of my husband. So if there’s no market for this type of content, then he wouldn’t be followed.”
The mother-of-two added in the caption, “I don’t expect this to make any difference because I understand the food chain here but my husband’s quality of life is of upmost [sic] importance to me.”
