Cain Velasquez retires from UFC and signs multi-year deal with WWE

Last Friday, Cain Velasquez shocked the world when he stormed the SmackDown ring. Moments after Brock Lesnar won the WWE Championship, he was attacked by the man that dethroned him in the UFC.

While it was rumored, understandably so, that Velasquez had signed a deal with the company prior to his appearance on the Blue Brand last week, that wasn’t the case. The former UFC Heavyweight Champion personally denied reports that he’d inked a deal with WWE. However, that has changed.

Thanks to ESPN‘s Marc Raimondi, it’s been revealed that Cain Velasquez has joined the WWE, signing a “lucrative multi-year deal.” He also withdrew from the USADA testing pool recently and has now officially retired from the UFC.
