Triple H has revealed that he’s forced to retire from wrestling. He confirmed the sad news during an interview with Stephen A. Smith on ESPN’s First Take. He revealed that he had to go to the hospital after coughing blood.
Triple H had to take time off from the WWE because of a cardiac arrest that he suffered back in September 2021. He revealed in the interview that he has a defibrillator in his chest.
“For me as far as in-ring, I’m done. I will never wrestle again, I have a defibrillator in my chest.”
Triple H last stepped in the ring at a house show in Tokyo, Japan in June 2019. He teamed up with Shinsuke Nakamura to defeat the team of Robert Roode and Samoa Joe. His last televised match was at the Super ShowDown event in Saudi Arabia, where he went against Randy Orton in a singles match.
The wrestling world reacted to this sad news and sent their best wishes to “The Game”. Many wrestlers who worked under his wing on NXT thanked Triple H for his mentorship, as the COO of WWE has had a big impact on their careers.
Carmella, Sasha Banks, Bayley, Johnny Gargano, Charlotte Flair, and many other names in and out of WWE thanked Triple H and gave him their best wishes. You can check out some of the tweets below:
During the latest Legion of RAW, former WWE creative team member, and WCW Champion, Vince Russo lambasted a segment that was done on the professional wrestling and sports entertainment program involving Carmella and Queen Zelina. Credit to Sportskeeda for the following.
“Bro, again, something that makes absolutely no sense,” said Russo. “There’s a slap and there’s a brawl in the back. And, 10 minutes later, they’re embracing in the middle. That would never happen. That just would not happen. You would not have the time to cool off in 10 minutes. Here’s what I’m looking at. When they embraced, I guess what happened in the back was work, but it looked like they were fighting. I don’t know. Like I said, all the years that I wrote, I put myself in the shoes of the wrestler. You just had a brawl in the back. What is bringing you together here to embrace?”

We had our differences during the day. But I will always respect you and your legacy in this industry. I’m really to happy to hear that you’re safe and that you can keep being a dad to your daughters. Sad to hear about you hanging your boots.
