Chad Gable apparently has a lot of backstage support on Smackdown

Following his loss to Lars Sullivan a couple of weeks ago on Friday Night Smackdown, Chad Gable officially announced he is done with the Shorty G gimmick.

Gable had to work with the gimmick for a year and many fans think that it was detrimental to him in general. The change was a long time coming as Daniel Bryan had been wanting it for the past few months.

According to various reports, it was said that there is currently some backstage pulling for Shorty G’s push. Some hope that Vince McMahon will finally take his character seriously. It was also said that McMahon sees Gable as “a tough guy” and admires all that he accomplished before pro wrestling.

It was also suggested that Vince McMahon did not mean any harm to Gable with the Shorty G gimmick. He thought it would help him but it certainly did not.

We will have to see how Gable will be booked from now on.
