As seen on this week’s edition of 205 LIVE, the former RAW and SmackDown Tag Team Champion Chad Gable made his debut on 205 LIVE in a match against Jack Gallagher. In his first outing on the brand, Gable came out victorious albeit in a strange fashion.
Gable won his match against Gallagher after the latter was counted out by the ref. Dave Meltzer reports in the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there might be more than what meets the eye with this finish.
According to Meltzer, the finish of the match was supposed to be different and the plan wasn’t for it to end in a count-out. However, the referee counted Gallagher out either way and granted the victory to the debuting Gable.
No further information about why the said decision was made but fans are free to speculate. Either way, Gable’s first match on 205 LIVE ended in a victory even though it could have been way more impactful.
