Charlotte Flair might be returning to SmackDown

On Wednesday night on AEW Dynamite, Flair’s husband Andrade El Idolo returned to action following his wedding and honeymoon with the WWE Superstar as the joker in the Casino Battle Royale. This has led to many fans questioning if The Queen is on her way back to SmackDown. According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, that doesn’t appear to be the case. In speaking to WWE sources, Johnson was told that Flair is not currently scheduled to be present at tomorrow’s show.

“With Andrade returning to AEW Dynamite last night, we have been asked if that’s a sign his wife Charlotte Flair will return this week on Friday Night Smackdown. WWE sources indicate that is not the case and that Flair is not currently scheduled for tomorrow’s taping.”

Andrade and Charlotte recently tied the knot during the former’s hiatus. Photos and videos from their wedding ceremony that took place on May 27th surfaced on social media. Some of the couple’s closest friends including Finn Balor, Apollo Crews, and Nia Jax attended the event. Dave Meltzer had previously revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio that Charlotte would be on a break from WWE for the foreseeable future as she seemingly planned on getting married to Andrade.

Flair had failed to successfully defend the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship against Ronda Rousey as the former ended up screaming the words, ‘I Quit’ at WrestleMania Backlash Premium Live Event. The match received a lot of praise for being much better than expected.

Following the conclusion of the match, WWE commentators noted that ‘The Queen’ suffered an injury but it seems it is kayfabe. As per WWE’s medical update, Flair suffered a fractured radius during her loss to Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania Backlash. She was written off TV as she will reportedly take some time off after a seven-month run as the SmackDown Women’s Champion. Charlotte Flair will be “out of action indefinitely.”
