Charlotte Flair is backstage at WWE Raw tonight, having recovered from COVID-19, PWInsider.com’s Mike Johnson is reporting, and she’s expected to return to WWE TV soon. She may ruin fans’ hopes of seeing Asuka vs. Rhea Riply in a one on one women’s title match at WrestleMania. Charlotte Flair won’t go to AEW for a sad reason.
Rhea Ripley told the New York Post she would be excited by a triple threat match at WrestleMania, “I’d be down for the match if she got added, but also in a selfish way I really want to have a one-on-one match with Asuka. It’s something that I’ve wanted for a long, long time.
I’ve always wanted to step in the ring with Asuka and we haven’t had a one-on-one match ever. So, I think there is that it factor that everyone is really excited about. If Charlotte gets added to the match, I’m still not going to complain. It’s still going to be a fantastic match and it’s going to be a fantastic story.”
Daniel Bryan was added to the Roman Reigns vs. Edge Universal Title match last week, so it wouldn’t be unprecedented for a change to be made this late in the game as WrestleMania 37 approaches.
