Former WWE Superstar CM Punk has not been seen on WWE television since the 2014 edition of the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. He walked out of the company the next day and has not looked back since then. Following his WWE exit, many fans have been wanting to see Punk make his return to the company every year. He has yet to make his return to the squared circle and at this point, it seems very unlikely. A WWE Superstar was also previously punished for ripping off CM Punk.
CM Punk has been in talks with AEW for quite a while as indicated by reports and it all came true as The Second City Saint made his return to pro wrestling on AEW Rampage: The First Dance back in August.
CM Punk has also been married to former WWE Diva AJ Lee. AJ Lee was given a lot of props for being one of best female WWE Superstars in recent memory, helping to pave the way for the advent of the Women’s Revolution in WWE.
Lee last competed in 2015, where she teamed up with Paige at WrestleMania 31 against the Bella Twins. The next night on Monday Night RAW, she took part in a six-woman tag team bout, which was the final time she saw in-ring action.
AJ Lee recently spoke on Wrestling with Freddie, where Lee revealed that she is not really sure about making a return to the squared circle.
“Wrestling opportunities have popped up over the years and I’ve never been ready for that,” AJ Lee said. “I’m not sure if physically, the fire is there, but the art of it has always been there. When I was a fan, the women were my favorite part of the show and I would skip the guys matches to watch the ladies.”
