Charlotte Flair talks being booed and her rivalry with Becky Lynch

Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch have been involved in one of the most intense rivalries in quite some time. And now, we’ll get to see the culmination of their feud in the main roster’s first-ever Last Woman Standing match.

Charlotte will face Becky Lynch at WWE Evolution for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship in what will probably be her last chance at the belt for quite some time. The Queen recently appeared onĀ Chasing Glory with Lilian Garcia to discuss her feud with Becky Lynch, including having to adjust to the reaction she’s received since SummerSlam.

On being involved in a highly competitive rivalry on SD Live:

Anytime you can find yourself in a meaningful storyline, you run with it. It’s the first time in a while for me that…I have been in so many great storylines…but I think the fans are really sinking their teeth in this one.

It’s exciting. It feels fresh and new. Even though Becky Lynch and I have had the opportunity to wrestle each other, this time the dynamic is different, which makes it even more exciting.

On crowds booing her even though she’s a babyface:

Honestly, if I wasn’t getting a reaction then there would be a problem. Whether I’m getting cheered or booed, you’re here to make the audience react. That’s how I look at it. I don’t look at it as negative. I look at it as the fans are invested in the story.

You can listen to the rest of Charlotte’s episode of Chasing Glory here.

The reaction Charlotte Flair has to being booed is an all too familiar answer to hear. After all, we’ve heard Roman Reigns make the same remarks when it comes to getting a negative reaction. Is the Queen going down the road of the Big Dog?

It’s definitely not Charlotte’s acting because these two are doing an amazing job in the storyline. But not for nothing, I did feel like Charlotte was took a heel turn. It’s the writing itself. Charlotte is definitely the heel, she’s the one holding down Becky Lynch in the story, but it is a gray area which makes the story more interesting. Charlotte started out as the one accidentally on purpose taking Becky’s shine and now Becky Lynch is ensuring that she is on top. Charlotte now got angry and is fighting back period both sides makes sense but we have a bigger heart for the one who couldn’t make it out on top before. Becky Lynch is having more of a Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Triple H effect. Where she is supposed to be a heel but is getting cheered because she is that awesome right now

Typical company line “the fans get to cheer or boo whoever they want”. True, but they SHOULD be cheering Charlotte because she’s supposed to be the face. The fact they boo her means two things: the writing is crap and Charlotte makes a terrible face.

I always hate that answer when ever anyone says it (see John Cena and Roman Reigns).
Yes you are getting a reaction, but it is the wrong reaction.

Getting equal levels of cheers and boos is fine if you are a heel, but as a face the boos should be minimal or non existent.
