Chris Adonis has parted ways with Impact Wrestling, he stated today on Twitter. The split seemed mutual, as Adonis thanked Impact’s management in the tweet.
I have to announce my departure from Impact Wrestling.
Thank you to @sonjaydutterson @EdNordholm & @ScottDAmore— Chris Masters (@ChrisAdonis) January 13, 2018
Adonis was with the company for less than a year. For the better part of that time, he would help Eli Drake in retaining his Impact Global Championship. In most cases, Adonis would take the fall in tag matches with Drake, or lose in single’s action.
Adonis’ leaving isn’t too shocking considering his run in Impact, and it’s rumored that he isn’t the only one walking out this year.
According to ProWrestling.net, Bobby Lashley, Eddie Edwards, and Laurel Van Ness(current Knockouts Champion) are planning to leave as well. EC3 was on the list, but it was revealed earlier today that he was granted his early release after grabbing the pink slip in the feast or fired match.
