If you ask “Le Champion,” no one on the All Elite Wrestling talent roster got their spot simply because they have friends in high places.
During a recent episode of his weekly “Talk Is Jericho” podcast, Chris Jericho took exception to the idea that anyone working in AEW only got their spot in the company because of who they know.
“You have that, Luther has it to an extent,” Jericho started, pointing to those who claim his longtime friend may have only been signed to AEW because of their relationship.
He continued, listing some other names that people have commented about being in AEW specifically because of the belief that they have the right friends.
“[Michael] Nakazawa and even Brandon Cutler,” he continued. “Because you’re friends with one of the top guys. You almost have to work harder to prove that.”
“The Demo God” continued, further explaining his point.
“That’s what I like to see. ‘Luther is actually pretty good. QT’s pretty good,'” said Jericho. “Yeah, that’s why you’re here! You’re not here on a friendship plan! You’re here because you f–king do a lot of work, and you deserve to be here.”
