Jon Moxley recently aired some grievances on Talk is Jericho, going over some of the moments in his WWE career that made him realize he was leaving. Though he says he’d made up his mind that he was walking away from the company in July of last year, there was a specific moment months later that got under his skin.
Moxley wasn’t comfortable with his heel turn following Roman Reigns’ leukemia announcement. He was even told to bring that into the storyline, addressing his friend’s real-life illness. However, there was a line so terrible that he flat out refused to say it.
It is the worst line. I’m not going to say it on the air, I’ll tell you after we’re done. It would have been like a thing where someone would had to get fired, maybe me. They might have, like, lost sponsors, like Susan G. Komen and all of that.
A Reddit user claimed to have heard the supposed line from someone at Double or Nothing, stating that Chris Jericho had a “big mouth” and spread the line to several people. According to them, Ambrose was supposed to say,
I don’t know who’s more of a dead man walking, Seth Rollins or Roman Reigns. Only difference I’m gonna kill Seth, and God is gonna kill Roman.
Jericho quickly shut down this rumor when a fan asked him about it on Twitter, simply stating, “Total lie.”
Total lie. https://t.co/txtVo4yA6z
