Chris Jericho Drops WWE Contract Bombshell

AEW star Chris Jericho recently responded to the talks of him leaving WWE and hos did it happen. William of RBR Wrestling Podcast named some current AEW stars who were released from WWE due to budget cuts previously.

 


 

He also named some stars who voluntarily left WWE contracts. CM Punk ‘Attacked’ By A-List Actor In Bed

He said that Miro, Nick Comoroto and Tay Conti were the only talents that WWE cut who signed with AEW.

While stars like Andrade, Moxley, Jericho, FTR, Brodie Lee, PAC, Christian, Cody, Dustin Rhodes, Matt Hardy, Jake Hager, Paul Wight, Sting, and Shawn Spears all voluntarily left WWE contracts.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter included Cezar Bononi in the list as well. But Brodie Lee had asked out for the release and his contract would expire anyway

He wrote:

“Bononi is another one. But of the names you mentioned, all left on their own but Lee. But Lee asked out long before they released him and his contract was expiring anyway. But I’d definitely call it his choice.”

Chris Jericho responds

The former AEW World Champion clarified that he did not leave WWE, rather he had not been under the company’s contract for 18 months when he signed with AEW.

He wrote:

“Actually I didn’t leave @wwe. I hadn’t been under contact with them for 18 months when I signed with @AEW.”
