Chris Jericho names Titus O’Neil as an unsafe worker, recounts real-life UK fight between WWE stars and others

Via his official YouTube channel, All Elite Wrestling’s Chris Jericho recently answered a number of questions on the latest edition of Saturday Night Special. Below are some of the highlights:

Most unsafe wrestler he has worked with

“Christian’s bodyguard was Tyson Tomko, his finish was very hard to take. Titus O’Neil too, the guy would just throw you, with no direction and with no care on how you’re going to land.”

A favorite UK memory

Jericho recalled the time he and some WWE colleagues got into a fight with MMA fighters and football fans on a European tour in the UK:

“I think Triple H was supposed to sign an autograph for somebody and he didn’t. He got in the elevator and split. And this guy got really mad and started a fight with one of the guys. And we were in the middle of a long tour. You do not mess with the boys. It was Wrestlers vs Skinheads vs MMA Fighters. Let me just say this. The wrestlers whipped f***ing a**.”

“I remember Viscera was just sitting on a guy (hands crossed). He’s just sitting on a guy and I was going around just like, how many shirts can I rip off? I’m going to rip off your shirt, rip off your shirt and I think Benoit had one of the guys in the crossface and he was laughing. It was just this big giant brawl.”

His feelings on Owen Hart

“When I first saw Stampede Wrestling, I know where Calgary is, I know I can get there. And that’s where I want to train. That was why Owen Hart was such a big influence on me because I knew where he lived.”

“When I started getting interested in going to the Hart Brothers pro wrestling camp, he was the guy that was kind of hot at the time. If I could just be like Owen Hart, wrestle Owen Hart, become Tag Team Partners with Owen Hart, that would be so cool. And I drew pictures of him, which you can see in the Dark Side of the Ring episode about him. But he was just the guy that really intrigued me. And I really wanted to work with him. And if you asked me when I left WCW to go to WWE, what my top 10 reasons were for leaving, probably number 10 or 9, not the main reason but one of the reasons was that I hopefully get a chance to wrestle Owen Hart and that never happened.”
