Chris Jericho WWE Return Bombshell Revealed

John Cena recently celebrated 20th anniversary of his debut in the company. Interim CEO and Chairman of WWE Stephanie McMahon recently sent out a congratulatory message to him. WWE stars like Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes, legends such as Triple H and Stone Cold Steve Austin, and several members of the AEW roster including Paul Wight, Bryan Danielson and Chris Jericho with whom he has worked with, sent video message to the 16-time World Champion. It seems AEW President Tony Khan allowed the AEW stars to send Cena the messages.

Tony Khan reportedly was fine with the gesture

Sean Sapp reported from behind Fightful’s paywall that WWE contacted AEW for allowing their talent to film video messages for Cena and that Khan had no problem giving the permission to do so.

June 27’s WWE Raw saw a very unique situation, with AEW talent Paul Wight and Bryan Danielson appearing during John Cena “congratulations” videos for his 20 year anniversary.

We’re told that the situation was very straightforward in making it happen. The idea was pitched, and then AEW founder Tony Khan was contacted in order to see if he’d be okay with it.

Given the circumstances surrounding the videos, he was said to be okay with the videos and provided approval. A WWE source told us that they were able to land virtually everyone they hoped to for the “congrats” videos. These instances have been few and far between since AEW launched in 2019.

Cena himself responded to the warm wishes he received from the stars in a Tweet. We will now have to wait and see what WWE has in store for him moving forward.
