– The dark main event for the WWE SmackDown tapings in Long Island, NY will be CM Punk vs. Jeff Hardy for the World Heavyweight Title.
– WWE talents were told at the TV tapings this week that there are no complimentary tickets available for this year’s SummerSlam. Next month’s pay-per-view is expected to sell out any time now.
– People within WWE this week have been talking about Chris Masters’ name being among the top Google searches for Monday and Tuesday after his WWE return on Monday night.
– As noted before, WWE is looking at making SummerSlam this year seem more like WrestleMania. In addition to the AXXESS event, WWE will be looking to tap into the Hollywood community as they are hosting several private parties and events the week of SummerSlam in conjunction with their Hollywood agency, WME. The idea is to network with current WWE partners such as MyNetworkTV and NBC/Universal while trying to help land potential future partners and sponsors. WME has enlisted their entire agency to work on the project so it’s a big deal.
