Chris Sabin talks AJ Styles “not liking him” during TNA run

IMPACT Tag Team Champion Chris Sabin recently appeared on the Chris Van Vliet show. The former X Division Champion discussed a number of topics from his career, including his 11 year original stint in TNA/IMPACT Wrestling.

One of the topics that Sabin discussed was his working relationship with current WWE Superstar AJ Styles. Both men were huge parts of the X Division back in the mid-2000s, with Styles going on to greater heights at the top of TNA’s main event scene.

Chris Sabin would reveal that Styles did not like him when they first met.

“I’m not sure (what I learned from Styles). He didn’t really like me at first. I don’t know if I wanted to learn from a guy who didn’t really like me, you know what I mean. I guess you can ask him why he didn’t like me.”

Sabin did however acknowledge that his relationship with Styles has improved over the years.

“Oh yeah, absolutely. Of course, we respect each other and I would say he’s one of my friends. I’ve known him for a long time, but I haven’t talked to him in a long time, but yeah.”

Chris Sabin is now the IMPACT Wrestling Tag Team Champion alongside his Motor City Machine Guns partner Alex Shelley. The duo returned to the company at the Slammiversary PPV event.
