Christian Cage WrestleMania Match ‘Rejected’ By WWE

It was somewhat odd when Christian made his move from WWE to AEW in such a short amount of time after seeing a mini reunion of the dynamic duo of Edge and Christian at the most recent Royal Rumble. By the sounds of today’s news, WWE may have had ideas for Christian before he departed from Vince McMahon and company. Edge Reacts To Christian Cage Quitting WWE.

Let’s find out about this as we take a deep dive into the newest episode of ‘The Nitty Gritty Dirt Show’ with two of our favorites to listen to, the famed Vince Russo and the ever knowledgeable Billi Bhatti.

Billi Bhatti: “When Drew McIntyre was facing Edge, Christian had a match at Fastlane against The Miz and Morrison teaming up with Edge. They also planned to do something…to do things with Edge and Christian down the line. Christian wanted to work with AJ Styles. Vince McMahon didn’t think that was a Wrestlemania match.”

Bhatti continues: “Christian then knew where his position was gonna be. If Christian just comes in as a good hand, it doesn’t help Christian for his last run.”

After hearing this insight, it makes sense why Christian would want to go elsewhere to bet better used for his skills.
