CM Punk advised Cain Velasquez to be a team player on joining WWE

Former UFC Star Cain Velasquez was recently interviewed by ESPN ahead of his scheduled WWE debut at the Crown Jewel PPV on October 31.

During the interview, he talked about his upcoming bout. He revealed that he talked to several people about joining WWE and the names included the likes of Travis Browne and CM Punk.

Velasquez was then asked what the former WWE Champion told him about signing with WWE and the former UFC Champion said that Punk told him to be a team player:

“He said, as far as getting into it, you just gotta be a team player, right? And just know that we’re all working together as a company to better everything for ourselves. Come to the end of the day, it’s business as well. You just have to be okay with what you have and what you’re being compensated for in order to go out and perform.”

Cain Velasquez made his wrestling debut during an AAA show earlier this year and he will be wrestling his first WWE match against Brock Lesnar at the upcoming Crown Jewel PPV.
