In this week’s episode of WWE Backstage, former WWE Champion, CM Punk made his return to the show after a long hiatus and it also happened to be Punk’s first appearance since the culmination of WrestleMania 36.
Upon his return, Punk discussed this year’s WrestleMania, which was expanded over the course of two nights and also revealed his favorite match from this year’s show.
On Night 1, The Undertaker wrestled AJ Styles in an iconic Boneyard Match, which also happened to be Punk’s favorite of the lot. The former WWE Champion added that while he did love the concept of the Boneyard Match, he also hopes that WWE doesn’t do matches of such variety and keeps them minimal.
CM Punk says the Boneyard Match was his favorite of the recent cinematic matches. Hopes WWE doesn't beat them into the ground though, save them for special moments. #WWEBackstage

The first-ever Boneyard Match was presented in a cinematic manner to the WWE Universe and we also witnessed the return of The Undertaker’s biker gimmick. By the end of the contest, it was ‘The Phenom’ who buried ‘The Phenomenal One’ to mark his 25th victory at WrestleMania.
