CM Punk was reportedly involved in an altercation following the conclusion of the All Out pay-per-view. During the post-AEW All Out media scrum, CM Punk blasted Colt Cabana, Hangman Page, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks. Punk utterly buried Page and Cabana in particular while blaming the Bucks and Omega for being incompetent EVPs.
Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez mentioned during Wrestling Observer Radio that they saw a police officer run by, and they figured a fight broke out with someone else. It was later revealed that Ace Steel was also involved in the “melee.” Ace Steel, was allegedly involved as he reportedly threw a chair that hit Nick Jackson in the eye. Steel also reportedly bit Kenny Omega and pulled the hair of the former World Champion. AEW has suspended Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, Pat Buck, Chris Daniels, Michael Nakazawa, and Brandon Cutler following the backstage fight.
It has been further noted that CM Punk, The Young Bucks, and Kenny Omega are all still with the company, but they are under suspension.
The truth about CM Punk backstage demeanor
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is a huge story covering the AEW All Out backstage fight and the aftermath of the internal investigation into what happened between The Elite and CM Punk’s camp.
Meltzer wrote about the story that broke via Wrestling Inc. this week about Punk’s dog Larry. It was pointed out that the story never surfaced until this week and coincidentally after news broke that The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega were returning to work for AEW.
“A completely made up story,” one person in AEW said. “He’s (Punk) losing (in the investigation results) and is desperate. There was a multiple weeks long investigation and this was oddly not discovered? Hmm. Also, it’s so happened to be mentioned the moment there was news about (the Bucks & Omega) possibly coming back? It’s insane that people would even humor this”
There was another person who was in the room seconds after the incident started and that person also said that the dog story was not true. That person said:
“The dog story is a complete lie. When the altercation was happening Punk was a total psycho and could’ve career PF less about the dog. Kenny picked the dog up to save him from being hurt and gave him to Megha. Megha was holding the dog screaming at Punk to stop. Punk didn’t even register that his `baby’ was being held by a stranger in the middle of a fight. It didn’t stop him one bit.”
The person said they saw everything exactly as it happened and said:
“They never spoke to Lucy Guy (the only person in the room who didn’t work regularly for AEW other than the security), cause she was a non factor. Sat in the corner the whole time as her husband was throwing chairs, punches and biting Kenny.”
There is a feeling within AEW is that Punk will not be returning and talks are still ongoing for his contract to be bought out.
