Rumors have swirled for many weeks that CM Punk could be going to AEW. Then, today, many outlets have reported that CM Punk has signed with AEW. As it stands currently, CM Punk has not signed with anyone. That being said, that means that there’s a chance (so you’re saying there’s a chance?) that CM Punk can actually sign with WWE still…WWE Break Silence On CM Punk Return Rumor.
CM Punk has been in talks with AEW for quite a while as indicated by reports and now it seems even WWE is under the impression that Punk has already signed with AEW. According to a report by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the internal belief in WWE is that CM Punk has already signed with AEW.
However, FightfulSelect.com reported AEW haven’t signed him yet : “In an update on CM Punk, Fightful was told by sources close to the situation that they had not heard of Punk putting pen to paper on a contract as of Friday evening.”
There are a number of things going on behind-the-scenes that would indicate that Punk is with AEW, but nobody in AEW has confirmed it, and of course, they won’t until the decision is made for them to go public with something of that magnitude.
