CM Punk on What He Thinks of a WWE Return, Does He Keep in Touch with WWE Stars?

Former WWE champion and new UFC welterweight CM Punk recently spoke to Carrlyn Bathe of The Wrestling Compadres Slamcast. You can check out the highlights here:

On owning his name ‘CM Punk’:

“Oh yeah, I own my name. I think a lot of young guys now, in the [professional] wrestling industry can take a page out of my book and you can say ‘no’ to people. They might not like it, but I was, somehow, I was CM Punk when I was 15 years old, wrestling in backyards in Mokena, Illinois, so I don’t know how it lasted this long. I don’t know how it lasted this long. I don’t know why. But, yeah, that’s what we’re going with.”

On if he misses his WWE colleagues and what he thinks of a return:

“There [are] individuals that you see on a daily basis that, one day, I just stopped seeing. There’s a quote in the movie Stand By Me, ‘friends go in and out of your life like the busboy at your local diner’ and that’s kind of life. Screws fall in and fall out and I’ve kept in touch with some genuine folks from there and there are some that, if I run into at an airport, I’d probably hug and say, ‘hey, how are you doing?’ and catch up real quick. But, yeah, there [are] definitely people and situations, those are memories. Those are all good memories, but the thought of going back there is like the thought of going to summer school. It’s like, you have nightmares about it.”
